329 Forest Run | A Paul Luciano Home

January 18th, 2008

We recently shot a walkthrough of 329 Forest Run for Erie home builder Paul Luciano. Here is the finished walkthrough:

The first floor Master Bedroom Suite is tucked away with an elegant Bath and spacious walk-in closets. Offers a separate Jacuzzi tub and shower with its double basin sink. Great Room is vaulted and includes a two story stone fireplace. French doors in the foyer lead to a private Study w/ built-in book shelves. A three car garage and a lot size over an acre make for a real value in Millcreek

Julie & Chris | June 23, 2007

Let’s just say Chris and Julie are perfect for each other. They are fun loving and loving each other! We are just plain late getting this post up.

It is safe to say, we have been extremely busy. Julie and Chris were married on June 23rd and we have been non stop since then. The Expy Team has been to four weddings in the past couple weeks and this week is no different. On top of all the normal wedding and engagement session work, we are also hosting our Wine & Cheese Wedding Planning Workshops in Erie @ Peek’n Peak Resort and Spa on Monday, July 23rd and in Pittsburgh @ the Embassy Suites Pittsburgh Airport on Tuesday, July 24th.

Here’s the story on Julie and Chris:

The day began like most weddings but there were a few twists and turns along the way! First, Chris shaved his mustache as a surprise for Julie prior to the ceremony. This was a shock to me when I was first told, I believe by Adam (Expy Photo), as I had seen Chris just a few minutes prior and never would have guessed he had a mustache earlier in the morning. In fact, Julie and Chris should email us a picture of Chris with his mustache so we can post it on here for all to see the transformation!

You can’t really tell in any of the pictures we chose to share with you, but Chris was also wearing a brand new pair of white Adidas shoes with his Tux. He was absolutely stylin’!!

Julie and Chris decided to leave their reception in order to capitalize on the beauty of Peek’n Peak Resort and Spa in a few photos. Many of the photos displayed in this entry are the fruits of that time! It just goes to show, every bride has different priorities. It isn’t often we have brides asking us tear them away from their reception in order to shoot absolutely amazing pictures!! Usually we have very little time to work with and while we enjoy the challenge and opportunity of both situations — Way to Go Julie!! Oh, and the Bobcats too:-)

Speaking of the Bobcats — the entire bridal party broke through a homemade Bobcats sign as they were introduced into the reception. That was classic.

It was a beautiful day as most have been this summer and we had a great time celebrating with Julie, Chris and everyone else!

Jennifer & Patrick | June 16, 2007

Expy Team — Amanda, Tom, Ryan & Justin

The day was nearly perfect for Jennifer & Patrick — if by perfect you mean the US Open is in town and the majority of your guests, including a bridesmaid, can not find flights or hotel rooms in order to attend the wedding! That didn’t even phase Jennifer whom I have had the pleasure of speaking with over the telephone on many occassions for many months leading up to her wedding. She took everything in stride and just a couple days before the wedding when she informed me there would be less than 20 guests attending (they were expecting closer to 80 as was evident by the cake) she was surprisingly calm.

In all honesty, the day couldn’t have been any better. Their ceremony took place at Old Stone Church in Monroeville, PA which is quite literally an “old stone church”. The site doesn’t have a congregation or even hold services on Sunday mornings any more. It is an historic site that is open for special events only but this magnificent church perched atop a hill is AMAZING. The view as you walk up to the church is breathtaking. Did I mention there is NO parking? We were lucky enough to snag one of the three spots in front of the church otherwise it would have been a hike!

Jennifer & Patrick are into photography so this was an extra special wedding for Amanda. She knew they were looking for something fun and creative that would properly document their wedding day — small and full of heart.

As far as video was concerned, we ran a three camera/three cinematographer shoot for the ceremony which was fun as we don’t often have the opportunity to put three cinematographers on the same wedding. Hopefully we’ll have a chance to post some of the completed video here in the next week or so. Keep checking back.

Here are some of the pictures from the day.

Amanda just couldn’t resist taking a few last minute shots around the red barn before we headed out.

One Last Picture / Red Barn

The reception took place in the Matron of Honor’s backyard which was appropriate considering the weather was absolutely perfect. I was expecting it to be a low key, not a lot of dancing type of reception due to the number of guests but I was wrong. Everyone liked to dance and had a great time! By the way, if you’re in need of a great catering service for any event in the Pittsburgh area… call Gourmet Affairs Catering. The food was out of this world and I don’t often say that for outdoor, backyard receptions:-) If you need any contact information let me know!

That pretty much wraps up Jennifer & Patrick’s wedding. Once again, we had a great time celebrating with everyone and Jennifer was just as much fun in person as she was on the phone!

Lindsay & Brad | Engagement Session

McConnell’s Mill State Park was a great choice for Lindsay & Brad’s Engagement Session. The park was beautiful and full of life — a perfect match for Lindsay & Brad’s personalities!

We began the session by a small waterfall and continued to find magnificent spaces providing perfect, natural backdrops for their photos. I think it is safe to say we laughed, talked and thoroughly enjoyed the company of Lindsay & Brad throughout the session. In fact, Lindsay invited Amanda and I to Cedar Point (I don’t know if she meant it but we’re up for it!) after finding out we’ve never been there.

Okay, so this next one requires a story which I will gladly provide below!

Story, Story, Story!

The Engagement Session was complete — in fact, we were all loaded into our cars when Lindsay remembered she had some questions about her wedding planning documents — and then she pulled out this amazing pen!! Not only did she pull the pen on us but she proceeded to tell us how much she loved her pen — even more than she loved Brad — (I may have made that last part up). But she was really passionate about her pen just as she is about most things once you get to know her a little:-)

It wasn’t long before I mentioned to Amanda that she should pull her camera out again and so it was we had an entire series of pictures showcasing Lindsay’s love for her pen. We even caught this moment of adoration that most certainly should have been reserved for oh so patient Brad!

We had a phenominal time with you two and look forward to October 6th!

Most of our communication leading up to the wedding was with Kelly (MOB) meaning the first time we met Adrienne & TJ was the day of the wedding. What a fun couple! They clearly enjoyed their wedding day and their guests were amazing.

The ceremony and reception took place at Celebrations & More in Imperial, PA. The venue provided a great backdrop for the outdoor ceremony and the staff were wonderful to work with. The food was great and the guests had a great time dancing the night away:-)

As usual we’ve posted some pictures from the day and hope you enjoy them!

So we’re a little behind in posting some recent weddings! We have been extremely busy as it is that time of year:-)

Tricia and Dave had a beautiful wedding at Walnut Creek Baptist Church in Erie (Tricia’s father is pastor of the church & Dave has recently been employed by the church)! Following the ceremony everyone headed over to Sunset Inn for the reception. There was no Disc Jockey but that didn’t stop them from having a great time and their Master of Ceremonies did a fine job if I say so myself!

Tricia and Dave are a great couple and we had the priveledge of capturing some amazing moments during their engagement session and on their wedding day! Moments just like this — real, unfooled around with memories.

The Glorious Exit

We met Tricia and Dave last year and found that Amanda and Tricia both have father’s that are pastors. Different denominations but what does that matter!! We immediately hit it off and truly enjoyed the time we spent with both of them. Keep up the great work and best of luck in your new lives right here in Erie!

This is the first Expy|Blog entry ever… and what a phenominal couple to share with everyone! Maranda and Ben are so in love and had a beautiful wedding day.

The Pittsburgh Airport Marriott was the perfect backdrop for their ceremony and reception — not to mention some fun portraits!

The renovations at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott were well worth the time and money spent updating the look. Great job!

Farewell

I first met these two in July of 2006 and still remember their excitement. They were more than a little disenchanted with the “unnatural” traditional photography style and at one point didn’t think they would hire a photographer for their wedding. Let’s just say that after that fateful meeting Maranda and Ben not only hired Expy to shoot their wedding and provide disc jockey entertainment services — they booked a GraphiStudio album with their package as well.

Watching the bride, groom, parents and guests view the Reception Slideshow of pictures is always enjoyable. The constant smiles, oohs and ahhs are worth every bit of effort that goes into creating and capturing memories with our brides and grooms!

We had a marvelous time celebrating with Maranda and Ben in Pittsburgh. Let us know what you think of the pictures!
